Eulogy

One more long day nearly done
Light leaving, our ambition to shrink as our shadows grow long
Open sign begins to glow
On the all night diner down the street
Drivers turning on their night headlights
A million destinations still unreached
Under a sky stained the color inside an old coffee mug
And here i still sit; a vintage armchair
Slowly beginning to gather dust
With the loves I once had,
Things i used to be good at
In a tidy row in front of me
…is this really how it was supposed to be?
A eulogy
For all I used to be
